There will be no classes at Studio 4 Dance the evening of Halloween (Monday October 31st). Everyone have a fun and safe Halloween this year!

Registration fee is $35 for the year to hold your spot in the class of your choice. The schedule is getting shaken up a bit this year, so come check out the new schedule (in other words, don’t assume your class is the same as it’s been the past couple of years).

You can still register online, but priority will be given to those who have paid the registration fee.

It’s Recital time! The girls have been working hard during their classes. Now, here’s the everything you ever wanted to know about Studio 4 Dance Recital:

• Location:

We will be performing at the Oldham County Arts Center. The address for dress rehearsal and Recital is 7105 Floydsburg Road, Crestwood, KY 40014.

• Dress Rehearsal:

Dress rehearsal will be on Saturday June 11th. You will soon receive a schedule indicating your child’s rehearsal time. You must treat dress rehearsal as the actual show. Full costume and make-up is required. If you do not participate in dress rehearsal, you will be unable to perform in the recital. There will be a photographer at dress rehearsal to take group shots of each class.  After your child rehearses and is finished with pictures, you are free to leave.

• The Show:

The show will be on Sunday June 12th, at 2:00 PM. Please have the students completely ready and backstage no later then 1:30 PM. This means costume, make-up, hair and shoes on and ready to walk on stage. There will be at least 2 moms assigned to each class backstage. Please drop your child off with her class and leave the backstage area.

• Individual Pictures:

We will have a photographer at the studio Friday June 11th to take individual pictures of your child in his/her costume. The sign-up sheet for time slots will be available soon.

• Tickets:

Each family will get complimentary tickets for immediately family only. This does not include grandma, aunts, etc. Anyone is welcome to come to the show. Please invite any friends and family you want to. The price for tickets is $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for children 5-12 yrs or younger than 5 if they will be requiring their own seat. If your child will be on your lap for the show, admittance for that child is free.

Soon, you will be receiving the Big Giant Recital Packet with more detailed information.

Blue Tiger Martial Arts Academy will be starting classes here at Studio 4 Dance (and at the La Grange Community Center) this month! The children’s classes are geared toward homeschoolers, but they will also be having adult classes during the day. Here’s the specs:

The fee is $60/month per family (no matter how many people in your family want to attend).  There will be four classes offered per week and the fee is the same no matter how many classes you attend per week.

The schedule is as follows:

Tuesday & Friday (at the Community Center):

• 1:00-2:00: Children
• 2:00-3:00: Adult

Monday & Wednesday (at Studio 4 Dance):

• 1:00-2:00: Children
• 2:00-3:00: Adult

I know several of our studio families homeschool and are part of groups. If you are one of these, or just know someone who homeschools, can you please forward this information along to them so this offer is extended to as many area homeschoolers as possible. He plans on starting classes at our studio April 18, so let everyone know soon! But, it is available to join classes after that.

As many of you know, I (Ms. Jamie) homeschool and have been participating in the Blue Tiger Martial Arts Academy for some time now. We love Mr. Mike and his influence on my son has been nothing but positive. He loves going to class and is learning a great deal.

It’s still possible that we will have more snow days, but we’ll address the snow days we need to make up so far. Originally we had scheduled to be closed the week of Oldham County’s Spring Break (first full week of April)…well, not anymore…

Monday classes: Hey! You don’t have any snow days! IF we collect one between now and spring, your first make-up class will be scheduled for the Monday of Spring Break. Perhaps you’ll still be able to take the week off. (fingers crossed!)

Tuesday classes (Jamie’s): You have collected one snow day, so you just need to come to regular classes on Tuesday April 5th.

Wednesday classes: You have collected one snow day, so you just need to come to regular classes on Wednesday April 6th.

Thursday classes (Jamie’s): You guys have been lucky enough to get canceled on not once, but twice due to the weather! So, show up Spring Break and a little closer to recital, we’ll schedule a bonus practice to make-up the time.

Saturday classes: You have collected one snow day, so you just need to come to regular classes on Saturday April 9th.This means you have classes the Saturday at the beginning and end of the Spring Break week.

I do understand that some of you will be out of town for Spring Break. If this is the case and you would like an alternate time to make up classes, please talk to me and I’m happy to work with you.
